Listed for $1,300 in Wisconsin, this 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis GS Eagle Hearse was a daily driver affectionately named “Theo” by its owner. With 80,000 miles on the odometer and a 5.0L V8 engine, Theo carried his owner reliably from point A to Z despite a collection of well-documented quirks that became part of his character. The vehicle retains functional casket rollers, sliding separator glass, cruise control, power windows, power side mirrors, and an adjustable electric power seat.
Recent mechanical work includes a new fuel tank with rust prevention coating, new water pump, new radiator, and a backup camera installation. Parts on hand but not yet installed include a heater core, AC components, and front and back struts. The fuel gauge is non-functional (continually reads low fuel), and the aftermarket stereo drains the battery when connected. Moderate rust is present throughout the body, consistent with Wisconsin winters. The seller expressed hope that someone could fix Theo better than they could, as they were at a loss for further repairs.
