Now wearing a flame paint job, this 1965 Pontiac Le Mans Hearse Ambulance is one of the rare Pontiac ambulance conversions built by Superior — most ambulances of the era were Cadillac-based, making a Pontiac version an uncommon piece of automotive history unlikely to be repeated. Described as a minimal-rust Southwest car, it is missing some key parts, but the majority of the vehicle is there.
As a combination, it carried both casket rollers and ambulance equipment, serving the dual role many funeral homes played before dedicated ambulance services took over emergency transport.
