Marking the end of an era, this 1977 Cadillac Fleetwood Hearse/Ambulance Combination by Miller Meteor was last seen listed at $2,572 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. First year of the “new” big body Cadillac, the coach arrived just as government regulations changed for ambulance and rescue vehicles — beginning the decline of Cadillac ambulances and the rise of Ford van and box truck units.
Two rear jump seats fold down into the floor for hearse usage. The front seat has no rips, the front carpet was professionally replaced, and all glass is crack-free. Every door lock works, with power front windows and stationary rear glass. A Miller Meteor plate atop the driver’s side fender reveals it was once a “crinkle top,” painted at some point in the past. Provenance traces from Texas to a Professional Car Society member in New Jersey (2011), then to a South Carolina rescue service’s museum — sold off when the service changed hands.

The 425 V8 runs great with no knocks, pings, or smoke, fed by a 4BBL carburetor, and an electronic Federal Siren works under the hood. No AM/FM radio. A/C is present but not blowing cold. The seller drove it roughly 75 miles total and trailered it from South Carolina to Kentucky, cautioning against long-distance driving before a safety check — brakes were soft, possibly low fluid or a failing master cylinder. The front seats fold, the car rides like a big Cadillac should, and a paint job would be in order for perfection, though it presents very well as is.
