1950 Cadillac Hess & Eisenhardt Hearse

1950 Cadillac S&S Hearse Hess & Eisenhardt front passenger side quarter view

This 1950 Cadillac Hearse, with a body crafted by Hess & Eisenhardt, represents an exceptionally rare survivor, with only 31,000 miles and fewer than 2,000 hearse and ambulance bodies produced in its model year. Recently pulled from storage in Quincy, Illinois, where it remained untouched for over 30 years, this vehicle carries provenance from Seals Funeral Home in Illinois and retains what appears to be its original tires despite decades of indoor preservation since 1968.

The chassis is complete and original with a clear title, though it requires substantial work including brake repair, lower quarter patches, floor pan replacement, and engine restoration. The engine is currently stuck, and the body shows dents and rust throughout, making this a project suitable for either full restoration to former glory or conversion into a rat rod driver. Southeast Iowa is its last known location where it was offered for sale.
