Offered mid-restoration with significant progress already completed, this 1959 Cadillac Eureka Hearse is a combination hearse/ambulance representing the height of Eureka coach builder craftsmanship. The body has been stripped to bare metal with new metal welded in—primarily in the floor and rocker panels—then coated with self-etching primer, epoxy primer, base coat, and multiple layers of clear coat, finished with wet-sanding and buffing. The frame and undercarriage have been thoroughly cleaned, painted in satin black, and undercoated for protection.
The 390 V8 engine has been fully rebuilt with the motor bored, crankshaft ground, and all-new internals including oil pump and timing components. The carburetor was rebuilt, and the water pump, generator, and starter are all new or refurbished. The brake system was completely redone from master cylinder to wheel cylinders with new hoses and lines. A complete factory A/C setup from a 1959 parts car was installed, giving the appearance of a factory option. The interior features a white and black finish with chrome accents, restored original dash and steering wheel, and a front seat reupholstered in white leather. The passenger compartment still requires door panels and carpet, offering the next owner an opportunity for customization. Several rare Eureka-specific chrome trim pieces have been restored, and the curved rear-quarter glass is in near-perfect condition.
