This 1962 Cadillac Eureka Model 8680S “3-Way” side-loader hearse features reverse-hinged rear doors and an electrically operated coffin table extending from either side or the rear. Only approximately 65 of these three-way electric table configurations were built in 1962 by Eureka Coachbuilders of Rock Falls, Illinois.
The car spent over 20 years in Hawaii serving Ghostbusters-themed parade and car show events before being shipped to Southwest Florida. It sits on Cadillac’s commercial chassis with an extended tubular X-frame and is one of only ~65 made that way due to high cost.
Power comes from a fully rebuilt 1962 Cadillac 390ci V8 (rebuilt 2015 by Snyder’s Machine Shop) paired with a heavy-duty TH400 automatic transmission. The electric table motor runs but hasn’t been extended during current ownership. Front brakes were upgraded to Wilwood discs about eight years ago.
Included: Ghostbusters parade equipment (magnetic rooftop lights, 1970s rotating police light, chrome hood siren, tanks, blue hoses, stripe decals, amplifier, speakers), owner’s manual, shop manual reprint, spare tire, and 3-ton jack. All accessories use magnets — no holes drilled.
Cosmetically, the white paint presents well for its age but isn’t a show car. Interior needs attention: headliner, reupholstered front bench seat, split dash pad, and hairline cracks in rear side glass and wing window. Aftermarket under-dash A/C works. Mileage: 51,000.
