Sayers & Scovill marked its 100th anniversary in 1976 by crafting a limited series of 50 Centennial Edition Hearses on Cadillac chassis. Only a handful still roam the roads today, with six confirmed running examples tracked through hearse clubs across the United States — making this one of the rarer finds in this Hearse Archive.
This example retained a working engine and drivetrain, with most of its rust proving superficial, stemming from less-than-ideal paint preparation during a previous restoration. The roller table remained intact and serviceable apart from missing coffin stays. Casket compartment decor, “Angel of Memory”, on each side. Attention was nonetheless warranted: the upper control arm bushings needed replacement, a transmission dipstick leak demanded fixing, the heater required repair, and the car needed new tires. It carried straight exhaust with a catalytic converter and retained its original wheels and hubcaps, though the custom wheels seen in photos were not included with the sale.
