The sole surviving example of only two Model 1705 Super 8 Hearses ever commissioned, this 1939 Packard Henney 3-way Hearse was a bespoke creation crafted under the watchful eye of Mr. Henney himself. Designed as the ultimate conveyance for upscale funerals, it boasts the distinguished Packard 12 suspension and was considered a luxury special order hearse in its day. A 12-year restoration breathed life back into the vehicle, completing in 2012 with every nut and bolt receiving meticulous attention. Since then, only 1,000 miles have been added to the odometer, and it has been safeguarded in indoor storage.
The body showcases a flawless black base/clear paint finish, with unique fender spare covers designed by Henney for church trunk storage. The interior has been faithfully restored to its original color scheme. Hydraulic rear levers ensure stability on uneven cemetery ground, while the swiveling casket table—part of the Nu 3-way system—allows versatile access from the rear and both sides.
