Restoration project with significant mechanical upgrades already completed, this 1940 Packard Henney Hearse Ambulance Combo is powered by a 350 Chevy small block engine paired with a 5-speed Camaro transmission. The front end received a Mustang II front suspension with disc brakes and power rack-and-pinion steering, while air bag suspension at all four corners provides adjustable ride height and comfort. A 65 SS rear end, new driveline, brake lines, fuel lines, power brakes, and power steering round out the chassis improvements.
Additional upgrades include a new aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, new alternator, 350 small block headers, new windows and felts, and fully functional headlights, stop lights, and turn signals. The vehicle rides on new Coker tires mounted on freshly powder-coated candy apple red 15-inch artillery wheels. Remaining work includes interior, paint, and chrome restoration to complete the build.
